Murad reaches party workers to seek their input for next budget, uplift of local areas

SUKKUR (Samaj News): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto has directed him to reach every worker right from the union council level to division and seek their proposals for making an inclusive pro-poor budget and development program.
“The purpose of this exercise being carried out on the instruction of the party leadership is to include the input of every party worker at the grassroots level in budget making and preparation of the development program to uplift local areas.”
This he said while speaking while the party workers, The meeting was attended by PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro, provincial ministers – Sharjeel Memon, Nasir Shah, Saeed Ghani, Jam Khan Shoro, Haji Ali Hassan Zardari, Ikram Dharejo, MNAs Khursheed Shah, Nafeesa Shah, Nauman Shaikh, SukkurDivision President JavedShah, district, taluka presidents of Sukkur, Khairpur and Ghotki, local bodies representatives and party workers.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari during his election campaign had vowed with the workers that the Sindh government would be run with their valuable input, the CM said and added: “Today, we [the CM & his cabinet members] have reached here to interact with you so that your problems could be heard and resolved accordingly,” he said and urged the party workers to send him proposals for budget and development works of their local areas through district and divisional presidents.
Mr Shah said that the Peoples’ Party government has turned to be the government of the people by the people and for the people. “Let us work together to uplift the life of the poor and downtrodden irrespective of any discrimination,” he invited the workers.
The CM said that the party workers have raised. Various issues, including water shortage, local bodies problems, provision of drinking water [water supply schemes], development of sewerage systems and construction of internal roads. “I have brought my minister with me, and they have noted the issues raised by you and they would be resolved on a priority basis,” he said and added he has also noted most of the issues raised in the meeting.
Minister P&D Nasir Shah speaking on the occasion said that on the directives of party leadership, the chief minister has arrived here along with his cabinet members to seek the proposal of party workers on the budget making, preferred developments work as required by a local so that people could be facilitated.
He said that a proforma containing the budget and development works columns has been designed which the workers have to fill in and submit to the chief minister through their district and divisional presidents. He added that the proformas have been distributed through local party presidents for the workers.
PPP MNA Khursheed Shah urged the CM to bind the bureaucracy to serve the people. “Most of the issues can be resolved at the local level with little effort which we all have to take at our level,” he said.
Sindh PPP President Nisar Khuhro said that the party workers were assets of the party that’s why the party leadership vale them.
Issues raised in the meeting: The party workers of district Ghotki, speaking on the occasion, complained against the oil companies, and national and Multinational business establishments of district Ghotki which were allegedly reluctant to provide the locals with jobs, and spending Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) budget in the backward areas of the Ghotki.
The local bodies elected representative demanded that the union council budget be enhanced from Rs500,000 to Rs2 million.
The party workers of different talukas of districts of Khairpur, Ghotki and Sukkur demanded that their local areas be given solar-powered water supply, sanitation, and internal road schemes.
Most of the party workers raised the issue of unemployment. They said that due to the stay order issued by the court against recruitment in the government departments, their youngsters have failed to avail the [job] opportunities.
At the outset of the meeting, dua was offered for Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohterma Benazir Bhutto, Begum Nusrat Bhutto.
Those who spoke on the occasion include Sukkur Division President Javed Shah, General Secretary Meeram Khan, City leader Mushtaq Surahiyo, MNA Ms Shazia Sobhya Sooomro, Murtaza Ganghro (worker) and others.
