The use of electric vehicles is the need of the hour to cope with environmental pollution and save fuel: Jam Ikramullah Dharejo

Karachi (July 22nd, 2024): A meeting was held in the Sindh Secretariat under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Jam Ikramullah Dharejo. The meeting took place with Yusuf Dewan Group. In the meeting, Secretary Industries and Commerce Muhammad Yasin Shar Baloch, MD Site Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, Dewan Group representatives Hasan Zafar, Saad Murad Khan, Captain (retd) Kashif Riaz and Saleha Hassan were also present. Speaking on this occasion, Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Jam Ikramullah Dharejo said that electric vehicles were the need of the hour to cope with environmental pollution.
‘ Pakistan is one of the most polluted countries in the world and the use of these vehicles will help in dealing with environmental pollution ‘. he said .

He said that the manufacturing of electric vehicles at the local level would not only save foreign exchange but
employment opportunities would also be created at the local level. Jam Ikramullah Dharejo added, ‘ Small size fire trucks are also the need of the hour as these trucks can easily move through narrow streets and slum areas to extinguish fire in case of fire.

Provincial Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo said that more and more charging stations need to be installed to make electric vehicles successful.
Mass publicity is also needed to encourage the common man to use electric vehicles. He assured the representatives of Dewan Group that
Sindh government would play its full role to promote the automobile industry. He would talk to the relevant departments that the use of electric vehicles should be promoted in the government departments.
