Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, reaffirms his commitment to safeguard Pakistan’s nuclear assets and missile program.

GARHI KHUDA BAKHSH/LARKANA/KARACHI/ISLAMABAD/LAHORE, December 27: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, on the 17th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, has reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s nuclear assets and missile program, gifts to the nation from Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Moharma Benazir Bhutto. He vowed that no compromise would be allowed on these assets.
According to a press release issued by the Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman PPP paid rich tributes to his mother and Pakistan’s first female Prime Minister, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He stated that her courageous 30-year-long struggle has become a testament to history and is recognized worldwide. “Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was the first Muslim woman to become Prime Minister of any country, and without a doubt, she was the true representative of this nation. She never compromised on her ideology, manifesto, or the rights of the people. She never bowed to any dictator or terrorist and stood firm till her last breath, fighting for the people.”
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further remarked that those who assassinated Shaheed Benazir Bhutto believed that with her gone, the genuine voice of Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir would be silenced, leaving Pakistan under the control of puppets willing to trade away the people’s rights and even the country’s nuclear assets for personal gains.
“From December 27, 2007, when Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was martyred and puppets were imposed, the country has been suffering. Today, Pakistan faces myriad problems—economic crises, rising terrorism, provincial issues, and looming international challenges,” he stated. He emphasized that addressing these problems requires collective efforts from all political parties, as no single party has the mandate or capacity to tackle the challenges simultaneously.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pointed out that the PPP has taken on the responsibility entrusted to it by the people. “We are the only political party that can proudly say we are neither selected nor part of any manipulated electoral results,” he asserted. Despite not holding a simple majority in the Assembly, he declared that the PPP remains accountable to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh and its loyal workers, not to any positions or power.
The PPP Chairman criticized the federal government for failing to fulfill agreements made with his party, particularly regarding flood relief and equitable development. “We voted for their bills, but our members of parliament return to their constituencies empty-handed,” he lamented, emphasizing that this approach is unsustainable.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also raised concerns about the government’s policy on new canals, terming it a violation of the agreement made with the PPP. He reiterated that the PPP would protect the rights of the people and find solutions to Pakistan’s problems. He stressed the need to set politics aside and prioritize the country’s defense against emerging international conspiracies.
Addressing President Asif Ali Zardari, the PPP Chairman urged him, as the representative of the federation, to advise the government to ensure consensus-based decision-making. He praised President Zardari’s leadership during his first term, which saw historic achievements like the 18th Amendment and provincial rights through consensus among political parties.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed grave concerns over threats to Pakistan’s nuclear assets and missile technology. “Our adversaries aim to deprive a Muslim country of such strength. We will not allow any compromises on our nuclear program or missile technology,” he declared unequivocally.
He also criticized Imran Khan, pointing out that international statements supporting him come from elements opposed to Pakistan’s nuclear program. “Imran Khan must clarify why those hostile to Pakistan’s nuclear assets are backing him. Are these not the same voices that supported Israel’s government and now advocate for him?”
The PPP Chairman emphasized that the PPP and its workers would thwart any attempt to install a government willing to compromise on national interests.
