President Asif Ali Zardari Meets Portuguese Counterpart, Emphasizes Strengthening Bilateral Ties
Lisbon: President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, met with his Portuguese counterpart, President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, at the Presidential Palace, where he was warmly received.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and emphasized the need to enhance cooperation in various sectors. President Zardari highlighted that Pakistan values its relationship with Portugal, noting that both countries share strong bilateral ties.
The President of Pakistan extended an invitation to his Portuguese counterpart to visit Pakistan, stating that such a visit would further strengthen the bond of friendship and open new avenues for cooperation.
Both leaders also deliberated on increasing economic, trade, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges. President Zardari acknowledged that the year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Portugal, a testament to their enduring friendship.
