Strong condemnation of construction of canals on Indus River in NA
Islamabad, February 12, 2025 – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Larkana District President and Member of National Assembly (MNA) from NA-196 Qamber-Shahdadkot, Khursheed Ahmed Junejo, took a firm stance in favor of the people of Sindh during a National Assembly session. He strongly condemned the construction of six (6) new canals on the Indus River. Addressing the house, Khursheed Ahmed Junejo stated that the people of Sindh are already suffering from water shortages, and the construction of additional canals will severely impact the province’s agriculture and water resources. He termed this move as an attack on Sindh’s rights and demanded an immediate explanation from the federal government, urging them to halt the project. The Pakistan Peoples Party leadership has always raised its voice for the rights of Sindh and will continue to struggle against any unfair measures in the future. On this occasion, other assembly members also supported Khursheed Ahmed Junejo’s stance and signaled a strong reaction against any encroachment on Sindh’s water rights.
