Government Intensifies Anti-Dengue Drive Across Sindh

Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho stated that the provincial government has further intensified its anti-dengue campaign across Sindh. All districts have been instructed to accelerate spray operations, fumigation, and drainage improvements to eliminate mosquito breeding sites.

“All deputy commissioners and district health officers have been directed to ensure that no stagnant water remains anywhere, as it is the primary source of mosquito breeding,” Dr. Pechuho said.

She emphasized that the government’s priority is to ensure equal focus on both urban and rural areas to control the spread of the virus effectively.

Free Dengue Testing and Treatment in Government Hospitals

The Health Minister noted that dedicated dengue treatment units have been established in all government hospitals, offering free testing and treatment facilities for patients.

She urged citizens to take preventive measures by avoiding stagnant water in courtyards, rooftops, and flowerpots, using mosquito repellents, and visiting the nearest hospital immediately in case of fever.

“Dengue is a preventable disease, and with collective responsibility and public cooperation, we can control it effectively,” Dr. Pechuho added.

Active Monitoring and Daily Review

Dr. Pechuho further assured that the Sindh government’s dengue monitoring teams are actively working in all affected districts and are reviewing the situation on a daily basis to ensure timely action.
