KARACHI (Oct 29): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah met 27-year-old visually impaired CSS qualifier Eril Hussain at CM House and congratulated him on his remarkable achievement of joining the Foreign Service of Pakistan.

Eril Hussain, who successfully passed the CSS examination in the 2024 batch, has been allocated to the Foreign Service – his first choice.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that Eril Hussain’s success had proven that no physical limitation can stand in the way of determination and hard work. “You have made us all proud,” the Chief Minister told him warmly as he embraced the young officer.

Mr Hussain shared his educational journey, saying he studied at a school for special children and later completed his education at St. Patrick’s High School and the University of Karachi.

Murad Shah also praised the Sindh government’s People’s Bus Service, saying he regularly uses it and finds it highly efficient. He requested the Chief Minister to introduce a digital or voice-assisted system to help visually impaired persons identify arriving buses.

Earl Hussain explained that visually impaired candidates are granted extra time during CSS examinations, which helped him perform better under fair conditions.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary to CM Agha Wasif, Secretary DEPD Taha Farooqui, NOWPDP’s Amin Hashwani, Mustafa Ghazi, and Iqra Nagi.

The Chief Minister expressed his happiness at the growing achievements of persons with disabilities across Sindh. “Our efforts to support differently abled individuals are yielding results,” he said. “I want to work with organisations like Inclusive City and others to promote higher education and empowerment opportunities for special children.”

Murad Ali Shah said that the Sindh government remains committed to building an inclusive society and called upon civil society and private institutions across Pakistan to join hands for the development and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
