“Teachers – The Change Makers” Khatoon-e-Pakistan College Leads Sindh’s First Seminar on Professionalism in Higher Education

KARACHI (Roshan Sindh) Khatoon-e-Pakistan Degree Girls College successfully hosted a seminar titled “Teachers – The Change Makers” with the theme “Reinforcing Professionalism in College Education” at the Fatima Jinnah Auditorium. The event brought together distinguished academicians, principals and faculty members to reflect on the evolving role of teachers as catalysts for positive change in the education sector.

This landmark seminar marked the first-ever initiative by the College Education Department to launch a collaborative platform for knowledge sharing and co-learning aimed at enhancing the professional performance of college professors. The idea for this pioneering effort was the brainchild of Prof. Ghulam Sakina Memon, whose dedication and foresight inspired the event’s conception.

Director General Colleges Sindh, Prof. Dr. Naveed Rab Siddiqui, warmly acknowledged and appreciated Prof. Sakina’s initiative, commending her for her commitment to improving education. He also announced his intent to expand such professional development seminars across Sindh, ensuring that the culture of academic excellence and continuous learning reaches every district.

“This initiative sets a new precedent for professional collaboration among educators,” said Prof. Dr. Naveed Rab Siddiqui. “We aim to replicate this model throughout Sindh to strengthen teaching standards, promote innovation, and reinforce the dignity of the teaching profession.”

The seminar featured an esteemed panel of speakers, including Prof. Dr. Navaid Rab Siddiqui, Director General Colleges Sindh; Prof. Nasir Iqbal, Principal, Adamjee Government Science College; and Prof. Sameen Durdana, Principal, Government Girls Degree College, Gulzar-e-Hijri.

Prof. Dr. Siddiqui, in his speech, captivated the audience with its depth, clarity, and practical wisdom. He emphasized the importance of professional integrity, institutional accountability, and academic innovation as the pillars of educational excellence. His address offered exceptional guidance and motivation to all professionals present, setting a clear direction for collective progress in college education across Sindh.

Prof. Tahira Fayyaz, Principal of Khatoon-e-Pakistan Degree Girls College, welcomed the distinguished guests and expressed gratitude for their contributions.
