Islamabad Suicide Blast Near G-11 Courthouse: 12 Martyred, Over 20 Injured in Police Convoy Attack
Islamabad (Roshan Sindh Digital Desk) — At least 12 people were martyred and more than 20 others injured in a powerful suicide bombing near the G-11 District Courts in Islamabad on Tuesday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, a motorbike-borne attacker targeted a police vehicle parked near the courthouse. The explosion triggered a massive fire, engulfing nearby cars and scattering debris across the area.
Police confirmed the recovery of the attacker’s body parts, verifying it as a suicide attack. Three vehicles — including one police van and two private cars — were damaged in the blast.
The injured were rushed to PIMS Hospital, where emergency measures were put in place. Several victims, including lawyers and bystanders, remain in critical condition.
Security forces have cordoned off the entire area, while forensic experts collect evidence from the site. The Bomb Disposal Squad has declared the explosion to be of high intensity.
Sources within law enforcement agencies suspect involvement of foreign-backed extremist elements, possibly linked to Indian-sponsored networks and Afghan Taliban affiliates operating under the banner of “Fitna al-Khawarij.”
The Ministry of Interior has formed a high-level investigation committee to identify the perpetrators and their facilitators. Citizens have been urged to avoid speculation and follow official updates only.
