KARACHI (November 21st, 2025) Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh Syed Awais Qadir Shah attended the reception to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty King Charles III at British Deputy High Commission Karachi as the Chief Guest.

Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh was received by British High Commissioner Her Excellency Jane Marriott and British Deputy High Commissioner Lance Domm.

Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed, Minister for Home and Law Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Minister for Minorities Affairs Dr. Sham Sundar Advani, MPA Sadia Javed, MPA Tanzila Ume Habiba, MPA Qassim Soomro, and MPA Nida Khuhro.

Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh congratulated the people of Great Britain and the British High Commission on the birthday of His Majesty King Charles III and thanked them for the invitation.

Speaking on the occasion, upon the invitation by High Commissioner Jane Marriott, Chief Guest Syed Awais Qadir Shah said, “The ties between the United Kingdom and Pakistan have a long and meaningful history. They are strengthened by deep people-to-people links, a vibrant diaspora, shared educational partnerships and strong cultural exchanges.”

“Karachi’s global character also gives the UK-Pakistan relationship a natural home here. This city is a centre of finance, trade, culture and innovation,” said Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah.

“Each of these nations has its own history, its own traditions and its own creativity, yet together they form a united and confident United Kingdom. That message resonates deeply in Sindh, a province known for its own vibrant layers of identity, its rich artistic heritage, its spiritual traditions and its long history of openness to the world,” said Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh Syed Awais Qadir Shah.

Concluding his speech, Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah said, “As we celebrate His Majesty’s birthday tonight, I want to reaffirm that Sindh remains committed to working closely with the United Kingdom. Together we can deepen cultural links, support economic opportunity and help our young people shape a prosperous future.”

Her Excellency British High Commissioner Jane Marriott called the Chief Guest Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh Syed Awais Qadir Shah upon the stage as well as the Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori for the toast, which is a British ritual.

The event was also attended by a large number of civil society members and people from various other fields.
